The Denville Fire Department was dispatched to the Second
Half Bar at 340 Route 53 for the report of a bush on fire in front of the
building. Upon arrival, the first Denville Police car found a fully involved
bush and the flames had spread to the wood siding of the building. That evening
there was high winds in the area contributing to the rapid flame spread. The
fire extended into the soffit and quickly spread into the second floor.
Rockaway Borough Fire Department was call as a F.A.S.T team, but was quickly put
to work upon arrival at the scene.
